POLICIES

1. Rehearsal Policy

a.  Since we only have 8 or 9 rehearsals to work up 6-9 charts, your individual practice on the music plays a much larger role than rehearsal time.  How much we achieve this summer depends on how much you practice.

b.  Attendance is important.  If you plan to miss any rehearsals, please let us know.  You need to find a sub.  We have a list of substitute players.

c.  Please take home the music folders, but only if you can get them back to the next rehearsal.

d.  A xerox machine is available for copying parts.

e.  Distribution of parts within the section is pretty democratic, but if two or more people want to play the same part, we will have a playoff.   Within reason, whoever plays it best gets to play the part.

f.  Inexperienced soloists must transcribe - lick for lick - at least one chorus of their solo as played on the "Potential Charts" tape.  We will help you if needed.

2.  Gigs

a.  Our annual concert with a professional jazz orchestra is not yet scheduled, but will likely be the weekend of July 23rd.  The other concert date is Saturday evening, July 30th, at the First United Methodist Church in Rowlett.

b.  The studio recording is set for the following Tuesday, August the 2nd at 1:00 PM, at Big Time Audio.
